Ponte de Lima is beautifully situated close to the nature. The town is surrounded by mountains and forests. The area is very green and calm. The Lima river flows through the center of Ponte de Lima. Just east of the town the big national park starts and continue into Spain. 20 kilometres west of the town the sandy beaches, that cover the coast line, takes over.

There are good possibilities for hiking in the surroundings of Ponte de Lima. Numerous paths and small roads offer great opportunities to walk through the fields, forests, mountains and/or along rivers. If you prefer, it is also possible to meet the fascinating nature of northern Portugal from a bike, canoe or horse.
